Wildfire Prevention Safety Tips from the MN DNR:
- Be careful with any outdoor activity that can cause heat or sparks. Low hanging tow chains from trailers can cause sparks from dragging on the ground.
- Keep outdoor equipment and vehicles maintained.
- Avoid driving through and parking on or near dry grass or brush. Hot exhaust pipes can start the grass on fire.
- Always watch your campfire. Keep it small. Less than 3 feet high and 3 feet in diameter. Make sure it is completely out before leaving it.
- Follow burning restrictions and don't burn on dry, windy days.
